Application documents

A complete application for Kairos University and IBR should include the following documents:

  • Online application form (for IBR)
  • Essay (for Kairos University and IBR)
  • Curriculum vitae (for Kairos University and IBR)
  • Official transcript(s) of grades (for Kairos University graduate transcript, for IBR graduate and undergraduate transcript)
  • English or German language test score (where applicable for IBR)
  • Copy of the first page of your international passport and photo (for IBR)

1. Online application form

To be considered for admission to learning experiences related to doctoral research offered by IBR Institute of International Business Relations, a candidate must complete an online application. IBR will confirm the content of the received information, and our local office will contact you for further admissions procedures.

2. Essay

The essay you are required to submit, represents you with an opportunity to tell us more about yourself. Use the essay to detail your work environment and the extent of your professional experience in this environment. We are also keen to learn more about your ultimate career interests, values, and goals. We are interested in what motivates you, provide us with evidence of your leadership skills and teamwork. More importantly, expand in detail on why you are seeking to engage in doctoral research now in your life.

3. Curriculum vitae (CV)

Please provide us with an updated CV reflecting your comprehensive career history. The CV should focus on your academic background and working experience, in particular as it pertains to desire to do research. It should contain a detailed list of your personal working experience, which should include dates of employment, addresses of employers and responsibilities.

4. Official transcript(s) of diploma certificates and student record

You must submit official or certified original university (institute-) transcripts of your academic undergraduate and graduate degrees (diplomas), together with student records (grade sheet certificates). All documents should be officially presented in either the German, English, or French languages.

5. English or German language test score (where applicable)

Demonstrating proficiency in speaking, writing, and reading in the English or the German language is essential. In the instance where:

  • English or German is not your native language or
  • you have not received your first academic degree at an English or German speaking higher educational institution, or
  • you have not lived for more than 2 years in a country where English or German is an official language
