India openly welcomes globalisation. The leadership of the country, supported by local business understood the lesson well: Only while being exposed to international market pressures, the country will be able to create a competitive sustainable business.

It was inspiring to hear how the government and senior Indian executives think about creating wealth for the Indian society. The Ambassador openly addressed the challenges of fighting against poverty, of educating also the poor and the responsibility of the country's leaders to provide a healthy environment for its population. "It is the creation of wealth for India that will allow us to tackle successfully these challenges and to build good future for our country".

The Ambassador also focused on the importance of education. In the history, Indians always place a great emphasis on education. Today, the blend of an excellent network of higher educational institutions such as the Indian Management Institute or the Indian Institute of Technology and exposing Indians to education in the States and Europe has systematically build a leadership of the country that is well equipped to compete on a global basis.
