Strategic management in times of crisis

Airbus - being shaken by recent problems with supplying the A380 in time - faces a problem: Its senior management has a very clear sense of where they have to be within the next five years. Clear targets have been set. However, the Airbus road map how to reach these targets has been dropped in the light of the latest unpredictable events. The task of the Ukrainian executives was to develop suggestions for the Airbus management of how to develop realistic strategies that would take into consideration (1) a long term commitment to major investments and (2) the need for flexible adaptation of strategies in the light of an unpredictable changing world around them.
